Can you teach RE to KS4?
Are you currently looking for work in a 'GOOD' School in the north of Nottingham?
I am currently working on behalf of a secondary school in the Mansfield area of Nottingham, who are seeking to take on a RE teacher to join the humanities department as soon as possible. This will be a part time position, working 4 days per week (days currently not confirmed).
The desired teacher must be able to prove that they have taught RE within the last 3 years to KS4 level or higher. The School itself are catholic and the candidate is desired to be of Catholic faith or religion, however this is not essential.
The Religious Studies Department at the school is committed to serving the needs of students from the Catholic tradition and indeed from all faith traditions as part of the mission of the Church. The KS4 curriculum involves:
- Component 1, Foundational Catholic Theology (37.5%)
- Component 2, Applied Catholic Theology (37.5%)
- Component 3, Study of a World Faith Judaism (25%)
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a minimum of 2 years experience teaching RE in a UK school at secondary level
- Be able to commit to a long term role which includes departmental meetings, parents evenings etc
- Have a respectful and professional manner towards pupils and staff within the school
All candidates MUST have:
- A teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS/PGCE) with RE specialism
- The right to work within the UK
- The ability to provide two references from your most recent employers
- A child only workforce DBS, registered on the update service (this can be done through Teaching Personnel if you don't have one currently active)
