History Teacher – South Manchester – Full-Time – September 2025 Start

Teaching Personnel is proud to partner with a high-achieving secondary school in South Manchester to appoint a qualified History Teacher to join their Humanities department from September 2025 on a full-time basis.

The Humanities faculty is thriving, with a supportive team that shares a passion for dynamic, context-rich teaching and developing students' critical thinking.

Role Overview:

  • Deliver engaging History lessons to Key Stage 3 and 4 (Years 7–11), following the AQA specification.

  • Teach a range of historical periods and themes, including the Norman Conquest, Industrial Britain, World Wars, and the Cold War.

  • Prepare Year 11 students for GCSE examinations, using data and formative assessment to identify and close gaps.

  • Contribute to curriculum enrichment through trips, clubs, or themed days (e.g., Remembrance, Black History Month).

  • Maintain a strong classroom presence with well-established routines and clear behaviour expectations.

Person Specification:

  • Holds QTS and a degree in History or a related discipline.

  • Proven experience teaching History to KS3 and KS4 in a UK secondary school.

  • A reflective practitioner who enjoys collaborating and sharing best practice.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
