We are looking for qualified (FQT/NQT/FE) teachers to join a hardworking team of teachers and specialists in a special needs college in Uxbridge. We are looking for a teacher with experience, good understanding or interest in planning and delivering learning and development plans for young adults with profound and complex medical needs.

Based in Uxbridge, Hillingdon the college provide bespoke learning, social development and care support for young adults with special needs. With requirements for teachers to teach students with complex medical and profound needs within the college, you’ll both work closely with the college’s curriculum lead and specialists to plan lessons based both on site and within the community. Lessons also include sensory learning and vocational programmes from animal care to digital media.

Teaching roles are full-time Monday to Thursdays to start immediately with opportunities to apply for permanent roles within the college.

What they are looking for?

  • Teacher with either Qualified Teacher Status (FQT) an undergraduate Bachelor of Education (BEd), a one-year Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) or Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (Further Education)
  • Teacher who is confident or with a good understanding of planning and delivering the curriculum to children or young adults with profound and complex medical needs (PMLD) including physical and sensory needs  
  • Someone with a proactive, creative and highly motivated personality
  • Someone who is a team player to join our existing friendly team
  • Someone committed to full-time work with an interest in permanent positions within the college
  • Someone with a updated Child and Adult DBS or able to apply in order to secure position

  • Experienced SEN teaching assistants to support with delivering plans to students, personal care and mobility support
  • Regular in-house support and training
