Job description

A School in Chorley are looking for a recent Psychology graduate who has passion and experience in supporting pupils with ASC, Down Syndrome, Global Learning Delay and associated behavioural difficulties. The role is an SEN Teaching Assistant position and is the perfect opportunity for those who wish to explore the rewarding careers within Educational and Behavioural Psychology - and to utilise the vital skills learned throughout your 3 years at University!
This post will offer you the chance to make a positive influence on the pupil's development, and in turn allow you to gain experience in a long-term role as you work within a school setting. You will be working alongside a devoted school staff team and have the opportunity to learn from SEN professionals including External Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Nurses and other medical professionals. More often that not, these roles are focused on integration in each class; whilst working on cognitive behaviour strategies and analysing how to help children increase their attainment.
The SEN Assistant position is suitable for a graduate who either wishes to enter teaching themselves, or is looking at versatile roles within the Education sector (such as Educational, Behavioural and Developmental Psychology): Full-time opportunities within schools are the perfect start to your post-graduate career!
The role is to start ASAP and you will ideally be available to interview and trial within the next 2 weeks.
