The role will be full-time and run for the rest of the rest of this academic year. Earlier this week, the Deputy Head teacher approached the agency asking for a strong role model and someone who had preferably worked within a school setting recently, delivering sports and physical education sessions, but also someone that has experience working within the classroom. The current port holder is starting a PGCE from September 2022 and is looking to get direct classroom-based experience before commencing their teaching studies. This role does have the potential to go permanent. The working hours will be 8:30 – 16:30, with 30 minutes for lunch & a 15-minute break in the morning. There will be an after-school club session from 15:30 – 16:30, Monday – Thursday, with different classes and key stages having the opportunity to participate in various sports (agreed with the sports coordinator). The school is a two-form entry primary school located in the heart of Burnley. The school has round 55 staff and +400 pupils. The school is located close to the M65 and can be reached through a number of transport methods including bus and train. The school is situated within a socio-economically deprived area with the children who attend predominately work below the expected age related levels. With this, the school are keen to employ individuals who are committed to raising attainment and boosting self-confidence, whether this be in or outside of the classroom. The above position is to start in April 2022 working full time, with the view to working on a supply basis, with the view to go onto a school contract should it be a successful appointment.
