Our Specialist SEN branch here at Teaching Personnel work closely with a "super" school within the Vale of Glamorgan that caters students aged 3-19 who have a wide range of Special Educational Needs. They are looking for Teachers who can deliver an adapted curriculum whilst supporting them to access vocational alternative lessons that are differentiated accordingly. You will work with every child baring in mind that they are an individual ensuring that their educational and therapeutic needs are met so that they can flourish both within the school and when they leave. A sensory approach to learning is fundamental for many of their pupils in order to help them make sense of the world around them and is embedded within their adapted curriculum.
You must be able to use your own initiative and willing to get "stuck in" on occasions - some of these children & young people can display challenging behavior you must be able to assist the school staff in defusing & de-escalating any situation as they arise. Having experience in supporting children and young people with a variety of additional needs is beneficial.
