Job description

Position: Teacher of Science

Location: NN3, Northampton

Do you share a passion for education and want to make a profound impact on the next generation?

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a school in the NN3 area of Northampton who are looking to employ new Teacher of Science for September 2024. The school are looking to take on a passionate teacher who demonstrates a care for education and allows students to flourish.

The school in mind is a successful, popular and over-subscribed school, graded Good in it’s last two Ofsted inspections. They are also located very centrally to Northampton being based in NN3, so have excellent modes of transport to get to the school for both drivers and those who take public transport.

The school have an excellent department of Science teachers who are keen to consistently develop and improve not only their students but also the department and it’s resources. They are lucky to have 2 brand new Science laboratories in the new building of the school, which supports with the students lessons from year 7 all the way up to GCSE and A-level Biology, Chemistry and Physics,.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans for various science subjects, fostering a love for the subject among students.
  • Utilize hands-on experiments, demonstrations, and other interactive teaching methods to enhance the learning experience.
  • Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative methods.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate cross-disciplinary concepts and enhance the overall science curriculum.

Requirements;

  • Teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent)
  • Qualification in Science or experience Teaching the subject
  • 2 + Years Teaching Secondary Students
  • Strong Classroom Management
  • Good Knowledge of Biology, Chemistry and Physics
  • Ability to Teach Science up to A-level standard
  • A child only enhanced DBS (Or prepared to apply for one)
  • Full time availability

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
