Physics Teacher- Manchester- Pay in line with MPS/UPS
Due to a late gap arising within the Science department, Teaching Personnel have just been approached by our partner 11-18 secondary school & sixth form for a Physics Teacher to join them in the new academic year. This full time position represents an outstanding opportunity for a Physics Teacher to work in a school that enjoys an excellent reputation within the local area.
This role will initially be for one term to determine suitability for the role. However, there is a possibility of a fixed-term contract being offered to the suitable Physics Teacher thereafter.
Specific duties:
-Teaching Physics to Key Stages 3 & 4.
-To develop Physics lesson plans in accordance with the national curriculum models.
-To maintain order and discipline among students whilst promoting safety and compliance with school rules and guidelines.
Information about the school:
Ofsted graded GOOD secondary school
"Student behaviour in lessons and around the school is excellent. They take pride in the school and are respectful to all staff"- Ofsted 2016
It is a larger than average size secondary school with currently over 1,800 pupils on roll. Due to these vast numbers, the school has a much higher proportion of students who are known to be eligible for funding from the pupil premium and there are much higher proportions of students from minority ethnic backgrounds and who speak English as an additional language.
In terms of location, the school is situated on the border of Stockport and Didsbury. It is a short drive away from the M60 making it easily accessible from the areas of Wythenshawe, Cheadle Hulme and Reddish. There are also excellent public transports links (trams, trains and buses) that stop directly outside the school.
