At Teaching Personnel we have a fantastic opportunity to play a lead role in the development of students at one of our Schools. We are looking to appoint an able, highly motivated, enthusiastic and innovative Pastoral Manager. We want the best for our students and so you must be self-motivated with relevant experience working with students in SEN. You must be committed to securing high standards of behaviour and discipline which will lead to increased academic attainment. You will have the opportunity to work as part of a well-established and talented team whose roles are all based around the needs of the pupils. You will be required to work within KS3 and KS4 pupils, and possibly younger pupils.
(Pay is dependent on experience)
Main Responsibilities
Take a lead role within the School in order to address the needs of students who need particular help to overcome barriers to learning.
Analyse data on a regular basis and implement strategies to address findings.
Communication with parents, schools, staff and multi-agency partners is a major part of the role. You will need to be comfortable having difficult conversations with parents communicating concerns in a sensitive and supportive way.Communication with staff is key to ensure that the team is motivated and supported on a daily basis. This will require knowledge and the ability to support children whose behaviour may be affected by experiences of trauma, attachment difficulties or neuro-developmental issues.
What is required
- Experience of working in a school setting
- Experienced in teaching SEMH and SEND
- A proven track record of effective project management and delivery in relation to the target group of young people; including writing progress reports and presenting these to formal audiences
- Proven track record of managing staff
- Proven record of communicating effectively with parents
- Experience of working strategically and collaboratively in multi-agency settings, with statutory and third sector youth services
- Ability to work under pressure, handle a variety of situations and people and self-manage time.
- Full Clean Driving Licence
- Enhanced DBS

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
