Part time EYFS and Year 1 Teacher role- SEPTEMBER START

Teaching Personnel have an exciting opportunity to offer; we are currently looking for an experienced teacher who can work on a part time basis from September in a Darwen Primary School. The Head teacher contacted the agency on Friday afternoon to discuss the level of quality he is looking for; he specified that the applying teachers will need to be experienced in Early Years and Lower KS1 and possess a commitment to raising standards. He also commented that he has enough money in the budget to start someone from the first week in September and run this on a supply basis for 27 working weeks. This will obviously be a guaranteed chunk of work and one where you can really impact on the children's development and learning.

The School itself is situated close to Blackburn with Darwen Services next to the M65 and is commutable by public services as well as by private transport. It is a one form entry Primary School where children arrive from a mixture of social backgrounds and with this the challenge is not only with the levels of academic attainment but also with behaviour. You must be able to work confidently with the Early Learning Goals and have a good structure in the Early Years setting as well as a sound knowledge of the Year 1 framework and National Curriculum levels. The School is currently graded GOOD by Ofsted (2016) and the School are keen to maintain this standard and push further for OUTSTANDING status.

The children who arrive in school tend to live in the local vicinity to school and are mainly from White British backgrounds. With this, the parents of the children are keen to support the school and their children with academic and personal development. The school have worked tirelessly to build bridges between the local communities in recent years, this was noted in the 2016 Ofsted report.

You are only able to apply for this role through Teaching Personnel and so in order to be successful you must be able to provide references and work through the vetting process.

On the full day, the pay expectation is expected to be in the region of £130 per day.
