Teaching Personnel are currently seeking 1:1 tutors to facilitate the learning and development of Looked After Children and those with special needs in Poole, Dorset.
We work with a wide-range of Looked After Children in care who have a diverse set of needs. It will be your responsibility to support pupils in preparing for exams, during transition to a new area or new setting and to provide high quality education to support learning and ensure continuity and progression.
You will be working either within the home or within a residential care setting. The core focus of sessions is to improve skills in Maths and English. You will also have a sound working knowledge of de-escalating challenging behaviour in order to meet the Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs of the young people.
Essential Skills:
- Understanding and appreciation of working with vulnerable young people and those with additional needs
- Excellent time-keeping and organisational skills
- Experience teaching Maths or English to GCSE Level
- Flexibility to work part-time although some of our tutors support more than 1 young person throughout the week and do supply work on other days. The choice would be yours to make.
