Position: Teaching Assistant

Year group: Nursery (Maternity Cover)

Pay: GBP57 per day including National Insurance and Pension Contributions.

To start: 23rd March 2020

End date: TBC

Trial: An observational trial will be held between the 24th February and the 13th March 2020. Feedack will be provided immediately after the observation.

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a fluent welsh Teaching Assistant to work in a Nursery class in a Welsh Medium Primary School in the Caerphilly area. The maternity cover is set to start on the 23rd of March 2020 and the end date is yet to be confirmed.

The ability to communciate effectively through the medium of welsh is essential for this post.

The role

-Assist the classroom teacher to plan learning activities, create resources and keep recrods of the pupils’ development;

-Help pupils who need extra support to complete activities;

-Support the teacher in managing challenging behaviour;

-Supervise the group activities;

-Ensure that the learning environment is prepared before the lesson and tidied up after each lesson.

-Carry out administrative tasks;

-The ability to manage groups of children and deal with challenging behaviour

Vetting

In order to be considered for this role, we will require the below to be put in place prior to the start date, we can help you obtain all the relevant vetting checks needed:

-A CHILD ONLY Enhanced DBS;

-You will need to be registered with the Education Workforce Council as a Support Learning Worker. Education Workforce Council (EWC) is the independent regulator in Wales for Teachers and learning support staff. Registration with the EWC is a legal requirement for anyone who works in a School in Wales;

-2 x Professional graded reference from your last two employment.
