Job description
Multi-Skills Mentor – SEMH Provision (Ages 13–21)
Location: Leigh (WN7)
Start Date: September 2025 or ASAP
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Pay: £90–£110 per day (depending on experience)
Agency: Teaching Personnel
Key Responsibilities:
-
Deliver practical sessions in construction, carpentry, joinery, painting & decorating, or general trades
-
Support students aged 13–21 with SEMH needs in developing real-world vocational skills
-
Create and adapt sessions to meet individual learning and emotional needs
-
Work 1:1 or with small groups in a supportive and inclusive environment
-
Promote independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
-
Collaborate with teaching staff and SEN professionals to ensure pupil progress
Requirements:
-
Background in a trade (e.g. construction, carpentry, multi-skills, etc.)
-
Experience or interest in working with young people with SEMH or SEN
-
Strong behaviour management and communication skills
-
Patient, reliable, and resilient approach
-
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
