MFL Teaching Assistant

Are you bilingual and speak French, Spanish or German as an additional language? Maybe you have recently graduated with a degree in one of the modern foreign languages? Do you one day aspire to be a MFL teacher but would first of all like to gain further experience in a secondary school setting? Apply right away if this sounds like you!

  • Full time position for an MFL Teaching Assistant starting in September 2019
  • Paid up to £65 a day, dependent on experience and responsibilities
  • Excellent opportunity to gain classroom experience while getting paid
  • Opportunity to begin school direct/teacher training the following year
  • Access to excellent training and development opportunities
  • Working within an Ofsted graded 'Good' school in Oldham

As an MFL Teaching Assistant you will be required to uptake a number of roles as you support pupils within the MFL department whilst you assist both KS3 and KS4 pupils in reaching their potential and surpassing their expected graded. The pupils you will support will range from low ability to the highest achieving and as such you must be flexible to each individual needs, whether this is a final year student about to sit their GCSE examinations or a new starter who is requiring assistance in settling in to their new surroundings.

Whilst working within this Ofsted graded 'Good' school in Oldham you will oversee and shadow the MFL Teachers as you gain a greater understanding of the role of an MFL Teacher and pick up various techniques and develop your skills as an MFL Teaching Assistant. Throughout your time you will gradualy uptake greater responsibilities until you can confidently teach small groups of KS3 and GCSE pupils in your subject specialism.
