Our partner school located in Tameside are currently looking to recruit a Maths Teaching Assistant to start with them in September 2018.
This full time Maths Teaching Assistant position will involve supporting the learning of both KS3 and GCSE pupils within their Maths studies.

- Working within the Maths department to specifically focus on raising attainment in numeracy with Years 7 and GCSE pupils
- Secondary school located in Tameside with excellent transport links to the surrounding areas of Manchester and Cheshire.
- Earn between £1200 and £1300 per month

The role:
Due to the strategic focus of the Senior Leadership team to raise the standards of Maths teaching within the school, they are looking to add a Maths Teaching Assistant to join them in the new school year. This position will initially be on a temporary basis for 12 months, however, there is the potential of a fixed-term the following year.
Working under the direction of the Head of Maths and Head of Year 7, the incoming Maths Teaching Assistant will specifically focus on supporting identified pupils in in Years 7 and Y10/11 to 'bridge' any achievement gaps. This will include providing interventions with small groups to ensure the transition from Primary to Secondary education and assisting preparing GCSE pupils for examinations. The Senior Leadership team are specifically looking for a Maths Teaching Assistant with excellent support knowledge of Maths (ideally jhold a degree in Maths or previous tuition experience) .
The school:
The school is smaller than the average size within the local area with just over 700 pupils on roll. The large percentage of pupils who attend the school are from White British backgrounds. At present, the school have a higher than average proportion of pupils who require the pupil premium funding.
It is located within Tameside making it only a short drive away from the surrounding areas of Ashton-under-Lyne, Dukinfield and Stalybridge. It is also easily accessible to the areas of Hadfield and Glossop via the A57 and A6018. There are also direct bus links to the school from Ashton-under-Lyne.
