Teacher of Maths

1 Year fixed term contract

Portsmouth based - excellent transport links 

An opportunity has arisen for a Maths practitioners to join a flourishing Academy trust in one of our partner schools for an academic year. Owing the internal promotions, the school require a temporary Teacher of Maths to consolidate with their department to provide excellent support and teaching for their pupils. There may be an opportunity to become a permanent member of staff at the end of this period if this is your preference.

The successful Maths Teacher will be joining good school where students are motivated in Mathematics lessons and achieve in line with local averages in their GCSEs.The school provides extensive intervention programmes from additional support staff and tutors to ensure students receive bespoke teaching, not just from their classroom teacher, but from all staff involved within the Maths department.  We need a Maths Teacher with high expectations towards student behaviour and a Maths Teacher who is confident in their ability to build upon the recent developments across the school.

The school are located in a central position with excellent public transport links. They will also provide parking for those commuting by car. In recent years the school has undergone changes to ensure it is fast becoming an education provider with a consistent track record not only in its results but in its staff fulfilment, pupil engagement and general feeling within the wider community. Staff at this school are passionate about ensuring all pupils receive a well rounded education and are given the chance to enhance their lives for the better through education.

The ideal Maths teacher will have a proven track record of facilitating students to fulfil their potential. You will join a vibrant school who pride themselves on their diverse community and ability to treat all pupils as individuals with the ability to exceed their own expectations whilst at school.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • UK QTS or equivalent
  • Proven track record of raising attainment 
  • Innovate ideas to inspire students
  • Experience working with the UK curriculum in Maths 
  • The ability to motivate pupils of differing abilities and skills sets

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
