Job description

A mainstream secondary school in Bournemouth is seeking a passionate and committed History Teacher to join their Humanities department on a full-time basis, starting ASAP.

This is an excellent opportunity for a History specialist who is enthusiastic about their subject and keen to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and well-structured lessons, supporting students to achieve their full potential in a supportive and forward-thinking school environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality History lessons across KS3 and KS4

  • Assessing, monitoring, and reporting on student progress

  • Creating an engaging and inclusive classroom environment

  • Contributing to the wider Humanities department and school community

  • Upholding high standards of behaviour and safeguarding

The school is looking for a teacher who:

  • Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification

  • Has strong subject knowledge in History

  • Can engage and motivate students of varying abilities

  • Is committed to high standards of teaching and learning

  • Works well as part of a collaborative team

Both ECTs and experienced teachers are encouraged to apply. The school offers a welcoming staff team, supportive leadership, and access to ongoing professional development.

This is a full-time position, available immediately, and would suit a teacher looking for a rewarding role in a well-established mainstream secondary school.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
