Are you passionate about bringing the past to life and inspiring young people to think critically about the world around them? A welcoming and forward-thinking mainstream secondary school in Salisbury is looking to appoint an enthusiastic History Teacher to join their thriving Humanities department from April 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a supportive team that values high-quality teaching, curiosity and meaningful discussion in the classroom.

The Role

You will:

  • Teach engaging and well-structured History lessons across KS3 and KS4

  • Inspire students to develop critical thinking, debate and historical enquiry skills

  • Contribute to curriculum planning and wider enrichment opportunities

  • Assess and track progress, providing constructive and motivating feedback

  • Promote high standards of written work, discussion and independent learning

The Ideal Candidate

You will:

  • Be a qualified History Teacher or ECT

  • Have experience teaching GCSE History (or be training towards it)

  • Demonstrate a genuine passion for History and student achievement

  • Enjoy working collaboratively within a supportive Humanities team

  • Bring energy, creativity and commitment to the classroom

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
