Job description

History Teacher – Secondary School (Bournemouth)

A welcoming and well-regarded mainstream secondary school in Bournemouth is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic History Teacher to join their successful Humanities department.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 for a suitably qualified teacher. The school is looking for a passionate practitioner who can bring the subject to life, inspire curiosity, and maintain high expectations for all learners.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification

  • Have proven experience teaching History at secondary level

  • Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and effective classroom practice

  • Be committed to raising attainment and fostering a love of History

  • Work collaboratively within a supportive and well-established Humanities team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
