Learning Support Assistant
Job description
A mainstream secondary school in Salisbury is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their supportive team on a full-time basis from April 2026.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and making a positive impact on students’ learning and development. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to support students both in the classroom and through targeted interventions.
Key responsibilities include:

Providing tailored support to students across KS3 and KS4
-
Supporting individuals and small groups to access the curriculum
-
Assisting teachers with lesson delivery and classroom management
-
Promoting positive behaviour and student engagement
-
Supporting students with additional learning needs, where required
The school is looking for someone who:

Has experience working with children or young people (school-based experience desirable)
-
Is patient, flexible, and enthusiastic about supporting learning
-
Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
-
Can work effectively as part of a collaborative team
-
Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
