Job description

A mainstream secondary school in Poole is seeking a reliable and proactive Cover Supervisor to join their team on a full-time basis, starting ASAP.

This role is ideal for someone with experience working with young people who is confident managing a classroom and supporting students to remain on task in the absence of their usual teacher. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning across the school.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising classes during teacher absences using pre-prepared work

  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies

  • Supporting students to engage with set tasks and learning activities

  • Reporting back to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour

  • Assisting with general school duties where required

The school is looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with secondary-aged students (school-based experience preferred)

  • Is confident managing behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment

  • Has strong communication and organisational skills

  • Is adaptable, professional, and dependable

  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
