Lunchroom Classroom Assistant

Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only (38 Weeks)
Hours: 8 Hours Per Week

We are seeking dedicated Lunchtime Classroom Assistants to join a welcoming specialist education setting supporting children and young people with Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Complex Needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping learners develop confidence, independence and essential life skills.
About the Role
Working as part of a supportive and experienced team, you will assist learners during lunchtime and support their social, emotional and personal development throughout the day.
Responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils during lunch and recreational activities
- Encouraging positive communication and social interaction
- Assisting pupils with eating, feeding and personal care where required
- Helping to maintain a safe, calm and inclusive environment
- Working closely with teachers and support staff to meet individual needs
- Supporting students with autism and complex learning needs

- Has a genuine passion for supporting children and young people with SEND
- Works well as part of a team
- Can remain calm in challenging situations
- Is physically able to support students with their daily needs
- Is willing to undertake personal care responsibilities, including toileting and feeding where required
- Believes that every learner can achieve and make progress

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
