Job Description

Teaching Personnel is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school on a full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1 or KS2, depending on your strengths and the school’s needs.

The ideal candidate will be confident supporting the class teacher, working with small groups, and delivering targeted interventions to help pupils reach their full potential.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support class teachers in the delivery of engaging, differentiated lessons.

  • Work with small groups or individual pupils to reinforce learning objectives.

  • Deliver interventions and targeted support, particularly in literacy and numeracy.

  • Assist with planning, preparation, and classroom management.

  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the class teacher.

  • Support pupils with additional needs, including SEN and EAL.

  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.

  • Supervise children during break times and school activities as required.


Requirements:

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) – essential.

  • Prior experience working in a primary school setting.

  • Good understanding of the primary curriculum and how to support children’s learning.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • A patient, nurturing, and flexible approach to supporting children.

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through the agency).


Desirable:

  • Experience with phonics schemes (e.g. Read Write Inc or Jolly Phonics).

  • Familiarity with supporting children with SEN, speech and language needs, or behavioural challenges.

  • First aid or safeguarding training (can be provided by the agency).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
