Level 2 teaching assistant –Bury

Teaching Personnel are currently working closely with a primary school in Prestwich, Bury (M25) which is currently looking to recruit a Level 2 teaching assistant to work in the Year 5 class. The role will be starting as soon as possible for the ideal candidate and will carry on until the end of the academic year.

This is an exciting opportunity for a driven individual who enjoys a challenge and wants to improve the quality of education for young pupils in the local Prestwich area. This role will involve general teaching assistant duties in the class room and leading Small maths and English interventions for lower ability children.

  • You will work under the instruction/guidance of the teacher and other senior staff members, to ensure the care and support of the pupils
  • You will help enable access to learning for the pupils and to assist the teacher in the management of their classroom
  • Will involve work within the classroom and outside the main teaching area
  • Working in a well respected primary school in the heart of the community
  • Excellent transport links

You will have:

  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Level 2 NVQ for teaching assistants, equivalent or above or have relevant work experience
  • Classroom based experience
  • Shown initiative and be confident to get involved in all areas of the school

This is a smaller than average primary school in the heart of the local community. The school has a large percentage of children who speak English as an additional language. Experience working with children with additional needs is desirable but not essential.
