Job description

We are currently working with a primary school in the Poole area, who are looking to recruit a full-time, experienced Teaching Assistant to work within a KS2 class. The school caters for pupils with statements of SEMH and the children can display challenging behaviour. The school runs similar to a mainstream setting, with small class sizes of around 6 pupils.

The role is based in KS2 - knowledge of the National Curriculum is desirable. The school are looking for someone with prior experience working in a school setting. NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant Qualification (or equivalent) is desirable.

Your key duties will include:

  • Providing support for pupils with behaviour needs
  • Supporting student's academic, social and emotional needs
  • Offering feedback and confidently liaising with relevant members of staff regarding pupils progress
  • Excellent use of behaviour management

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Have previously supported children with higher needs
  • Be confident in using effective behaviour management
  • Have Maths and English GCSE A*-C

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
