Learning Support Assistant
Job description
Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEN & SEMH Teaching Assistant to join one of our partner schools, providing support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties. This full-time role is ideal for a caring and patient individual who is passionate about making a positive impact on children's lives.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored support to students with SEN and SEMH needs, both 1:1 and in small groups.

Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons.
-
Implement behaviour support strategies in line with the school’s policies.
-
Support pupils’ emotional well-being and help build their confidence and self-esteem.

Collaborate with teaching staff, SENCOs, and other professionals to ensure consistent support.

Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour.
-
Support with personal care where necessary (depending on setting).
Requirements:

Experience working with children or young people with SEN, SEMH, or behavioural needs (essential).

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
-
Team player with a proactive attitude.
-
Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or child development are desirable but not essential.

Valid DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Teaching Personnel.

Right to work in the UK.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
