Behaviour Support Assistant
Job description
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other school staff to support students who may display challenging behaviour or struggle to engage in mainstream classroom settings. Your role will involve:

Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with behavioural needs
-
Implementing individual behaviour support strategies and plans
-
Supporting students with emotional regulation and self-management skills
-
Helping create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
-
Acting as a positive role model and building trusted relationships with pupils
Ideal Candidate:
-
Previous experience working with children or young people with behavioural challenges
-
Calm, resilient, and patient with a nurturing approach
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-
Ability to build rapport quickly and manage behaviour effectively
-
A background in youth work, psychology, or education is advantageous
-
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply for one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
