Location: Poole

Pay Rate: £13.75 per hour
Contract Type: Full-time, with opportunities for long-term placements

Are you passionate about supporting young people in their learning journey? Do you want to make a real difference in the classroom? Teaching Personnel is currently looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join one of our fantastic partner secondary schools in the Poole area from September.

This is a brilliant opportunity to work in a supportive school setting, providing tailored assistance to students with a range of additional needs including SEN and SEMH.


What will the role involve?
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Work closely with students on a 1:1 or small group basis to support their learning and development

  • Help to deliver lesson content alongside the class teacher, ensuring all pupils can access the curriculum

  • Encourage independence and help build students' confidence and self-esteem

  • Support pupils with special educational needs and help manage any challenging behaviour

  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive and positive classroom environment


Who are we looking for?
We welcome applications from individuals who are:

  • Experienced in working with secondary-aged pupils, especially those with additional learning needs

  • Patient, empathetic and confident in managing behaviour effectively

  • Knowledgeable about SEN and SEMH strategies (though full training is available)

  • Reliable, proactive, and able to work well as part of a team

  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
