Are you a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant ready to inspire and support young learners this September?
We are seeking a dedicated Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and vibrant primary school in the BS39 area of Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside passionate educators, making a real difference in the crucial early stages of children’s learning and development.

In this role, you’ll be an integral part of a nurturing school community, helping to create a safe, stimulating, and joyful environment where children can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities in line with the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
  • Support the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of each child.
  • Prepare resources, supervise play, and assist with daily routines and learning activities.
  • Encourage literacy, numeracy, communication, and motor skills through hands-on support and positive interaction.
  • Observe and record progress, reporting any welfare or safeguarding concerns promptly.
  • Build strong relationships with children, parents, and staff to ensure every learner is supported.
  • Adapt to the diverse needs of young learners while maintaining a patient, positive, and proactive approach.

About You

  • A warm, compassionate individual with a genuine passion for working with young children.
  • Experience in a Key Stage 1 setting or similar is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Creative, adaptable, and able to work well as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding practices and commitment to child welfare.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Childcare, Early Years, or Teaching Assistance) are beneficial, but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
