Primary Classroom Engagement Assistant

Location: BS40 area, Bristol
Start Date: September
Salary: £90–£105 per day (approx. £450–£525 per week)

A friendly and inclusive school in the BS40 area of Bristol is looking for an enthusiastic Engagement and Learning Support Assistant to join their team full-time from September.

This role is ideal for someone with experience working with children—whether as a sports coach, nursery assistant, swimming teacher, or in a similar setting—who’s ready to bring their energy and skills into the classroom and support pupils across the primary age range.

The Role:

• Support teachers by helping pupils engage with learning across a range of subjects.
• Provide 1:1 and small group support, keeping children focused and helping them make progress.
• Assist with planning and delivering engaging, hands-on learning activities.
• Foster a calm, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
• Support pupils’ emotional wellbeing, independence, and positive behaviour.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and school staff to help every child succeed.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Has experience working with children in settings like nurseries, sports clubs, after-school programmes, or similar.
• Brings a positive, patient, and adaptable approach to working with young learners.
• Genuinely passionate about education and supporting children’s development.
• Organised, proactive, and dependable in a classroom setting.
• Holds or is willing to obtain a valid DBS check prior to starting.
