A co-educational secondary school in the Trafford area is looking for a Learning Mentor to start with them at the beginning of the new academic year in September. The successful Learning Mentor is required to start ideally in the first few weeks of September as students settle into the normal routine of full-time education. The successful Learning Mentor will be working with the new cohort of year 7 students that are due to arrive at the beginning of September supporting them with the transition to high school ensuring they are supported in all aspects of learning and school life. There will an element of intervention, SEN support and general confidence building as part of this role.

Highlights of this Learning Mentor position:

  • Competitive pay rate with earning potential up to GBP1350 per month
  • Full time Learning Mentor position starting in the first 2-3 weeks of the new academic year (7/14th September)
  • Work alongside a committed team of assistants and support staff

The Learning Mentor will primarily be supporting the new cohort of year 7 students but also has the opportunity to work with some of the older students that require support within the classroom. The school will be placing even more importance on conducting their CATs (cognitive ability tests) during the first few weeks in September in order to assess the current ability of their new year 7 students, especially given the fact that they will have missed a large portion of the school year. Upon these results being published, the school will know more detail as to exactly the specific lessons that the Learning Mentor will be supporting in.

This school is situated in Trafford close to the M60 ring road. Stretford, Chorlton, Whalley Range and Altrincham/Sale are all close by with the central Metrolink also servicing the school well for those that travel via public transport. If you are a Learning Mentor who drives, then the school is very easy to get to being on a main transport route with an on-site secure car park.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
