Intervention Support Assistant required in Leigh

Job description

Are you experienced providing Maths and English Interventions? Do you have examples of where you have been able to make a real difference in children's learning? Would you like to work in a school where you can be come a valued member of a KS2 team?

If so a larger than average primary school located in the Leigh area of Wigan, is currently looking to appoint a support assistant to carry out small group and 1:1 interventions across Year 5 and Year 6. The school is currently graded as 'Good' by ofsted and is looking to add additional support to pupils who may not be currently be achieving their true potential. As part of this role you will also be targeting specific pupils with specific barriers to learning that they need to be able to overcome. Adding this you may also be working with high ability learners in order to stretch their learning and ensure they are able to fell challenged, stretching their full ability.

In order to be successful you will need to:

  • Have experience raising the attainment of pupils.
  • Have a strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum.
  • Be flexible and adaptable.
  • Be a strong communicator and be able to work as part of a team.
  • Be able to implement effective behaviour management techniques.
  • Have a real passion to make a difference to children's learning journeys.
  • Have experience carrying out both Maths and English Interventions.
