Humanities Supply Teachers – Roles Available from September

Location: Various schools across Northamptonshire 
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Long-term and short-term roles available
Pay: Competitive weekly pay (via PAYE)

Teaching Personnel is seeking passionate and knowledgeable Humanities Supply Teachers for a variety of opportunities in our partner secondary schools across the region, starting in September 2025. We are working exclusively with a range of schools to support their staffing needs in subjects such as History, Geography, Religious Studies, and Citizenship.

Whether you're looking for day-to-day flexibility or a long-term post, we can offer a range of contracts tailored to your availability and career goals.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Humanities supply teacher, your duties may include:

  • Teaching your specialist subject(s) across Key Stages 3–5, depending on experience and placement

  • Delivering high-quality lessons and maintaining continuity in student learning

  • Following school policies and ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment

  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively

  • Marking work and providing feedback in line with school policy (for longer-term placements)

  • Contributing to the wider school community where required

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification

  • Specialism in one or more Humanities subjects (e.g. History, Geography, RS)

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills

  • Adaptability and a professional approach to cover and planning

  • Enhanced Child Workforce DBS (assistance available if needed)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
