Job Opportunity: Dance Cover Supervisor (Secondary Schools) – Northampton

Are you passionate about dance and education? Do you have the energy and confidence to inspire students while stepping in for absent teachers? If so, we want to hear from you!

We are currently seeking a Dance Cover Supervisor to work across secondary schools in the Northampton area. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in performing arts, education, or youth work who enjoys working with young people and wants to make a positive impact in a school setting.


Role Details:

  • Position: Dance Cover Supervisor

  • Location: Northampton

  • Start Date: September 

  • Pay: £95–£115 per day (depending on experience)


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise classes in the absence of the regular dance teacher

  • Deliver pre-set dance lesson plans and activities

  • Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment

  • Encourage creativity, participation, and enthusiasm in dance

  • Provide support and guidance to students during practical activities

  • Liaise with school staff to ensure smooth running of the day


✅ What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in dance, performing arts, or PE-related subjects

  • Previous experience working with young people (e.g. teaching, coaching, youth work)

  • Confident classroom presence and strong communication skills

  • Flexibility, reliability, and a proactive approach

  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)

  • Teaching qualifications are desirable but not essential

  • Dance graduates or current dance professionals looking to gain school experience

  • Aspiring teachers

  • Cover supervisors or teaching assistants with a flair for the arts

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
