Job Opportunity: Dance Cover Supervisor (Secondary Schools) – Northampton

We are currently seeking a Dance Cover Supervisor to work across secondary schools in the Northampton area. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in performing arts, education, or youth work who enjoys working with young people and wants to make a positive impact in a school setting.
Role Details:

Position: Dance Cover Supervisor

Start Date: September

Pay: £95–£115 per day (depending on experience)
Key Responsibilities:
-
Supervise classes in the absence of the regular dance teacher
-
Deliver pre-set dance lesson plans and activities
-
Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment
-
Encourage creativity, participation, and enthusiasm in dance
-
Provide support and guidance to students during practical activities
-
Liaise with school staff to ensure smooth running of the day
✅ What We’re Looking For:
-
Experience in dance, performing arts, or PE-related subjects
-
Previous experience working with young people (e.g. teaching, coaching, youth work)
-
Confident classroom presence and strong communication skills
-
Flexibility, reliability, and a proactive approach
-
An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
-
Teaching qualifications are desirable but not essential
Ideal for:

Dance graduates or current dance professionals looking to gain school experience

Cover supervisors or teaching assistants with a flair for the arts

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
