Graduate Teaching Assistant

We are now looking to fill multiple vacancies across Cardiff & The Vale of Glamorgan for Teaching assistants in particular those working with challenging behaviour. The role of Behavioural Teaching Assistants are to work in mainstream schools supporting either 1:1 or in small groups with pupils that may need extra behavioural support in order to aid their education. In the past we have found that Psychology graduates or those with similar degrees are excelling in this area, so we would welcome applications from this specialism now. These vacancies prove to be invaluable in gaining skills that test your behaviour management and confidence within the classroom.

Qualities for the successful candidate:

-Previous school based experience desirable but not essential

-Understanding of challenging behaviour

-Confidence to support in difficult situations

-Can do attitude with a willing to try new experiences

-Two references that can be contacted

-Holding a driving license is advantageous

-You will be paid between £50-£60per day

Working alongside children with challenging behaviour can be very rewarding and for the right candidate and can be the first steps to you developing into a well rounded future teacher. Challenging behaviour can come in all forms and often needs to be dealt with by using various methods including de-escalation and 1:1 support. Teaching Personnel currently run a number of CPD courses such as Safeguarding, NASEN and Team Teach Training that can prepare you before you step inside a school. This training is ongoing throughout the school year and can enhance your career progression and lead to you feeling more comfortable within your surroundings.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
