Job description

Role of Candidate:

As a SEN Teachers Assistant you will be responsible, to plan, deliver, assess, report and mark learning activities for individuals and groups of disadvantaged/disabled students, to deliver programmes of study and to look after the welfare of the pupils. You will also be responsible for supporting access to learning for pupils and to provide general support to the senior teacher with regard to the management of pupils and the classroom.

The school is based in the Merton area - this lovely catholic schools is known for positively spreading the catholic ethos as well as welcoming all teachers and students of all faiths/religious backgrounds.

Key skills and experience needed:

  • preparing learning materials under the supervision of the teacher
  • working inside or outside the classroom with individuals or groups
  • adapting support according to needs
  • looking after children's physical, social and emotional welfare
  • creating a stimulating environment
  • giving information and help to teachers
  • keeping records and attending review meeting

Other Requirements:

  • All applications are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, professional reference checks, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) in line with our stringent safeguarding policy
  • Your CV must cover at least 5 years of employment history where possible and all employment breaks must be explained
  • You must have legal right to work in the UK
  • You must be willing to attend a registration interview
  • Trial day may be compulsory

Minimum Requirements

  • - Previous experience working in a similar School setting, or evidence of strong Behaviour Management
  • - A passion and enthusiasm to see pupils achieve
  • - Dedication to the needs of all your pupils, working with other staff members to offer emotional and academic support

A Child Only DBS on the Update Service, or one done through Teaching Personnel
