Full-time Geography teacher required for a Salford based secondary school from April 2019 for a maternity cover.

Due to a member of staff set to take maternity leave from April 2019, this mixed comprehensive secondary school is seeking a passionate Geography teacher to join their staff team on a full-time basis. • Full time Geography teacher, April 2019.
• Required for a long term maternity cover for Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Must hold QTS alongside relevant degree qualifications within Geography.
• Applications are welcome from both experienced and newly qualified Geography teachers as relevant support and induction will be provided.
• Ofsted graded 'Good' secondary school (M28).
• Pay in line with MPS/UPS £23,720 - £39,406.

The Geography department has a strong staff team working under the guidance of the Head of Department and SLT. The incoming Geography teacher can expect to join a supportive community of practitioners, expected to deliver dynamic lessons through innovative teaching and learning methods best suited to each individual Learner and learning ability.

The responsibilities for the successful Geography teacher will include;

• Full planning, preparing and marking responsibilities must be held under discretion of Senior Leadership.
• Deliver outstanding Geography lessons in line with the Geography National Curriculum at Key Stage 3/4 and GCSE, through differentiated teaching and learning.
• Evaluate and asses classwork taking appropriate action to provide additional support
• Promote an inclusive pedagogy best suited to each individual learner.
• Take on extra curricular responsibilities which include attending regular staff meetings, parent's evenings and staff training; where applicable.

Located in the Worsley region of Salford the school has just over 800 pupils on roll, aged 11-16. Salford is easily accessible via the M60/A580 (East Lancashire Road) and the surrounding areas; Bury, Bolton and Wigan. There are also various public transport options available with links across Great Manchester.
