Often, new candidates are confused by the concept of cover supervisor supply work.
As an outline; you would be employed by Teaching Personnel to work in Secondary schools in the absence of a teacher (subject knowledge not essential).
Our Schools are ever dependant on our cover supervisors to help the everyday smooth running of the school. In the event of a Teacher becoming absent, our cover supervisors will often be called in to help. The ideal candidate will be able look after the already planned delivery of lessons and will have excellent behaviour management skills.
This means that you represent Teaching Personnel on any placement you go into; we get regular feedback from schools on your work, therefore the higher the standard of your work whilst in a school will increase your chances of further work down the line. This feedback can be paramount to your future PGCE application as good feedback can stand you apart from your competitors.
Highlights of being a Cover Supervisor are:
-Paid Classroom experience
-Delivery of lessons- no preparation is required
-Increase behaviour management skills
-CPD Courses offered throughout the year
-Flexibility of working around your availability
-Possibilities of school contracts offered
You will be required to cover lessons across the curriculum in the absence of the Class Teacher. You will be supported by an excellent team who are passionate about helping young people to succeed. This would be an excellent role for a graduate looking to go into Teaching in the future, or someone who simply has great behaviour management skills.
Teaching Personnel have great relationships with their schools, and pride themselves on working in partnership with both candidates and schools alike. If you are considering a role within Education and you would like to gain or enhance your classroom management skills then please send your CV across via the link provided.
