Flexible Supply Cover – Specialist ASD Provision

Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated, patient and resilient education professionals to provide flexible supply cover within a specialist Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) unit.

This highly specialised setting supports pupils where all learners have either an Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) diagnosis or a formal statement of additional learning needs. Every day is different, and the role can be challenging — but it is also incredibly rewarding .


About the Role

You will be supporting pupils with a variety of needs, including:

Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
Sensory processing differences
Social communication difficulties
️ Emotional regulation and behavioural needs
Possible co‑occurring SEMH needs

Pupils may require high levels of structure, routine, patience and emotional reassurance. Some days will test your resilience and adaptability — no two days are the same — but the progress you support, even in small steps, can be life‑changing .

This role is ideal for individuals who are empathetic, calm under pressure, and passionate about inclusive education.


✅ What We’re Looking For

We welcome applicants with relevant experience, including:

‍ Experience working with pupils with ASD, SEND or ALN
Experience in SEN schools, specialist units or alternative provisions
Backgrounds in education, care, youth work or support roles

Essential requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
  • EWC registration (Education Workforce Council)
  • A resilient, proactive and flexible approach
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs and environments

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
