English Teacher required in Preston to cover a maternity leave from January 2018

If so, I am working on behalf of a client school in the Preston area who are seeking a Teacher of English to cover a maternity leave within the department from January 2018. This role will involve the teaching of both English Language/ Literature to KS3/4 students and will run through until the end of the academic year. You will be responsible for the planning and marking of students work and also attending any whole school/ departmental meetings.

The school is a smaller than average secondary school with around 700 students on roll and in a most recent Ofsted visit they were graded as 'Good' with 'Outstanding features'. This is a catholic secondary school, although Teachers do not have to be practicing catholics themselves they are expected to help uphold the catholic ethos within school and remain respectful of the faith at all times.

- Valid UK PGCE with QTS (QTS is not always essential but desirable)

- Recent experience teaching KS3/4 English

- Valid DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for a new one)

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
