We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented Secondary English Teacher to join an established department in one of our secondary schools in Waterlooville. Applicants must be fluent English speakers and be able to work efficiently as part of a team. The successful applicant will be delivering the English curriculum to Lower Secondary, Upper Secondary and Advanced Level following the Cambridge Lower Secondary, IGCSE, AS and A-Level programmes.
The successful candidate must have experience in preparing learners for success in Cambridge IGCSE, AS and A-Level examinations. He/She may also be allocated Form Tutor duties and so excellent communication and organisations skills are important.
All applicants must be able to attend in-person interviews and a demonstration session session(s).
For this position we will require a minimum of:
- An undergraduate degree in a related field.
- A PGCE or PGDE (QTS preferable but not required).
- At least two years' experience as a Secondary Subject-Specialist Teacher in a British school, teaching First Language English following the National Curriculum for England or the Cambridge International curriculum.
- Experience in preparing learners for success at IGCSE, AS and A-Level English.
- Experience in working with learners for whom English is a second or additional language is favourable.
- Excellent communication, organisation, interpersonal and time-management skills.
- Availability to start on the 27th of August 2019 and commitment for at least one academic year.
