Teaching Assistant

Location – Cardiff 

Pay - £89.38 per day

Start Date – ASAP (Pending Vetting Requirements)

Hours – 8:30-3:30 (full-time)

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and reliable Teaching Assistant who is available to work in the Cardiff area. The position will be to work in a Primary School on a full-time basis and support the pupils with their learning, development, and confidence. The role may also consist of delivering tailored learning activities that have been prepared by the teacher, as well as using their initiative if challenging situations arise in the classroom. It is important that the ideal candidate has a passion for working with children to contribute to the positive learning environment. Although experience working with children is desirable, it is not essential to be a successful Teaching Assistant.

Main Duties:

• Building positive relationships with the children and working alongside the teacher.
• Being able to recognise individual needs of the pupils and responding accordingly.
• Ability to take direction but also use initiative when needed.
• Confidence when communicating with teachers, children and parents in the school.

The ideal Candidate Requirements:  

• Experience working with children, but this does not have to specifically be classroom based.
• Passion for engaging with pupils and going above and beyond to create a fun and positive learning environment.
• Takes a hands-on approach and always be ready to support the teacher with a positive attitude.

Recruitment Criteria:

• Enhanced DBS (Child Only) checks must be completed before the role will commence.
• EWC registration required which is mandatory requirement in Wales.
• Experience personally or in a working environment with children (desirable).
