Teaching Personnel are currently in partnership with an outstanding secondary school, located in the Orrell area of Wigan to recruit an English graduate who is able to join their school from January 2020.

• English Graduate Teaching Assistant.
• Required to start in January 2020 or sooner if possible.
• Opportunity to work on a full-time temporary basis for the remainder of the year.
• Competitive pay with daily earnings of up to GBP65 per day.
• A DBS that is registered to the update service.

As an English Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with the class teachers in KS3 and KS4 to support, motivate and encourage students to reach their full potential. You will be required to work with a range of students with differing needs and abilities, supporting them to achieve the best possible outcomes during their key GCSE examinations.

This role would particularly suit an English Graduate with prior experience working alongside young learners or an English Graduate with aspirations to teach in the near future.  

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate exceptional subject knowledge and be willing to pass this onto the students within the school. The role will require you to work with students in group and 1:1 settings, providing reading and writing support sessions.

For graduates that wish to pursue a career in teaching, their will be unqualified teaching opportunities available. This will be fully supported from the Head of the English department and other experienced teaching staff within the English faculty.

The desired outcome of the school is to raise the attainment and understanding of both English Literature and Language for identified students.

Situated in Orrell, the school is located the outskirts of Wigan town centre making it easily accessible via car or public transport from surrounding areas such as; Skelmersdale, Chorley, Standish & Ashton-in-Makerfield. It is also a short drive away from the Merseyside areas.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
