Job description

One of our beautiful Primary school in the Whitchurch/Llandaff area are looking to appoint an Early Years specialist teaching assistant to join their supporting and friendly team ASAP. The vacancy would suit a qualified Teaching Assistant (with an extensive knowledge of the Early Years curriculum), Higher Level Teaching Assistant or Cover Supervisor (with Early Years experience) willing to work from 8:30am to 4pm from September 2018. Please note - the right candidate may have the opportunity to start before the end of this academic year should this be of better convenience. The applicants must be able to interview and/or trial as early as next week.

As per the school's request, we will only consider applications from candidates with Nursery and/or Reception experience and with a strong knowledge of the framework.

Applicants must :

- Have the legal right to work in the UK
- Hold a Child Workforce Only DBS registered on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one - full assistance provided)
- Be registered with the Education Workforce Council (compulsory requirement in Wales) - please note that if you are living in England, you can still register with the EWC which will give you the opportunity to work on both sides of the border
- Provide two professional or character references
- Be available to interview and/or trial asap
- Be available to start on short notice
- Be living in Cardiff and/or have plans to move to Cardiff in the near future and/or be willing to travel to Cardiff

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
