Drama teacher (Higham Ferrers)

Teaching Personnel are currently working closely with a school in Higham Ferrers who are seeking a Drama teacher for a temporary maternity cover to start after October Half term. 2018 has been a successful year for the school as they exceeded the national figures for the number of students gaining grade 4 in English and Maths. They also had the highest number of grade 9's achieved by any school in the area. The school believe students who are happy, feel safe and are taught well will be successful as a result. They are passionate and caring for students and ensuring that students' individuality is at the centre of everything they do. Students are challenged to reach their full potential and achieve academic success. Ofsted have stated that students know the high levels of behaviour which are expected of them and as a result they behave well in lessons. The teacher will be working alongside a successful performing arts department teaching Drama lessons to KS3 and KS4. The pay rate for this role will fall between £130 and £170 per day.

The ideal candidate will:

• Be an experienced and passionate teacher of Drama with experience teaching the subject up to KS4
• Be passionate and committed to teaching Drama
• Have excellent classroom presence and behaviour management skills
• Be able to prepare and deliver engaging, dynamic lessons which cater to a range of abilities
• Be committed to working collaboratively with the department
• Communicate well with students and staff
• Go above and beyond to ensure progress is made and attainment levels remain high
