Are you looking for your next challenge working within education? We are currently searching for a Tutor to work on a 1:1 basis with a Looked After Child who requires 3 hours per day (flexible but must be within the school day) of cross-curricular education. He is currently working at Level 4 in Maths English and Science, but is predicted Target Grades of 6 in all subjects.
The role is in the Derby City area and will be an interim role while the Local Authority are sourcing a new educational placement for him, due to a recent exclusion from school.
Ideally you will have excellent behaviour management and the ability to build a strong rapport with your students.
We are looking for candidates with the following skills:
- Experience working with children and young people, in particular those with challenging behaviour and mental health difficulties
- Confidence to work on your own initiative, as some of this role may involve lone working
- Good understanding of the National Curriculum at KS3 level
- Confidence to manage challenging behaviour and re-engage students who are disaffected and not currently engaged in their education
- Able to produce feedback reports and effectively monitor/track the progress of each student
- Be willing to support students off-site where required, to try and re-engage them and encourage positive attendance records.
