Cover Supervisor
Job description
Cover Supervisor – Flexible / Ad Hoc Work
Location: Birmingham
Working Pattern: Flexible (1–2 days per week or more, depending on availability)
We are currently recruiting confident and reliable Cover Supervisors to support a well-established multi-academy trust comprising several secondary schools across North Birmingham.
We work in close partnership with this trust to provide staff for all of their long-term, short-term, and emergency cover needs. As a result, we are looking to build a strong pool of Cover Supervisors who are available on an ad hoc basis and can step into classrooms to support continuity of learning.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking flexible work that can fit around existing commitments, whether you are looking for 1–2 days per week or more.
The Role:
- Supervising classes during teacher absences using pre-set work
- Managing classroom behaviour and ensuring a positive learning environment
- Supporting students in staying on task with their work
- Working across a range of secondary schools within the trust
Who We’re Looking For:
- Confident individuals with strong communication skills
- Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor is desirable, but not essential
- Candidates with transferable skills (e.g. coaching, youth work, tutoring, or leadership roles) are encouraged to apply
- Ability to manage a classroom effectively and build rapport with students
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work
What We Offer:
- Flexible, ad hoc work to suit your schedule
- Opportunities across a network of welcoming and supportive schools
- A chance to gain valuable classroom experience
If you’re looking for a flexible role in education and enjoy working with young people, we would love to hear from you.
