Job description

Want to Work in a School But Don't Have a Teaching Qualification?

You don't need one!

What you do need is confidence, prior experience, resilience, and the ability to lead a room full of students.

We're looking for future teachers, aspiring education professionals, experienced Teaching Assistants and confident individuals with transferable skills to join our partner secondary schools as Cover Supervisors this September.

So, what's a Cover Supervisor?

Think of it as the perfect introduction to teaching.

You'll be responsible for leading lessons when teachers are absent, delivering pre-planned work, managing behaviour and ensuring students remain focused throughout the lesson.

No lesson planning.

No marking.

No taking work home.

Just real classroom experience that helps you develop the skills schools value most.

This role could be perfect if:

✔ You're a Teaching Assistant ready for the next challenge

✔ You've recently graduated and are considering a PGCE

✔ You're waiting to start teacher training

✔ You have experience coaching, mentoring or leading groups

✔ You want to gain experience before committing to a career in teaching

What will you gain?

For many people, this role becomes the stepping stone into teaching.

You'll develop:

  • Classroom leadership skills
  • Behaviour management techniques
  • Confidence speaking in front of groups
  • Experience working across different subjects
  • A deeper understanding of school life

Why apply through SupplyBank?

We work exclusively with a number of academy trusts, giving our candidates access to opportunities that aren't always available through other agencies.

Many of our schools are already interviewing for September positions before the summer holidays, particularly for long-term placements that can lead to future opportunities within the school.

Whether you're looking for full-time or part-time work, we'll take the time to understand what you're looking for and help find a role that suits you.

If you're interested in gaining classroom experience, exploring a future in teaching, or taking the next step in your education career, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today and be ready for September!
