Pay Rate: MPS (dependent on experience)
About the role:
We are currently seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Design & Technology Teacher to join one of our valued partner schools in Birmingham from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate DT Teacher looking to make a positive impact within a supportive and well-established school environment. The successful candidate will be confident delivering engaging and creative lessons across a range of Design & Technology disciplines, inspiring students to develop practical skills, creativity and problem-solving abilities.
We welcome applications from teachers with experience teaching a variety of DT subjects, including:
- Product Design
- Resistant Materials
- Graphics
- Engineering
- Food Technology
- Construction
- CAD/CAM Design
- Textiles
Both experienced teachers and ECTs are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality Design & Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Create an engaging and inclusive learning environment that supports student achievement.
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress.
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning.
- Contribute to departmental planning and wider school activities where required.
- Ensure health and safety procedures are followed within practical workshop and classroom settings.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Design & Technology within a secondary school setting.
- Strong subject knowledge across one or more DT specialisms.
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
