Cover Supervisor
Job description
The Best Teachers Don't Always Start as Teachers.
Some start as Cover Supervisors.
Before standing in front of their own classes, many teachers first learned how to manage behaviour, build relationships with students and develop confidence in the classroom through roles just like this one. That's why schools continue to see Cover Supervisors as one of the best pathways into education.
September Opportunities Available
SupplyBank is recruiting Cover Supervisors for September starts across our network of partner secondary schools. We're looking for people who can command a room, think on their feet and build positive relationships with young people.
Some of our most successful Cover Supervisors have come from backgrounds in:

- Training and development
- Customer-facing leadership roles
- Armed forces and emergency services
- Community and support work
If you're comfortable leading groups and setting expectations and have experience working with and supporting children, we'd like to hear from you.
What separates a great Cover Supervisor from an average one?
It's not subject knowledge. It's presence.
The ability to walk into a classroom, establish expectations quickly, communicate clearly and create an environment where students can succeed. The work is already planned and set for you, so you will need to ensure behaviour is managed and work is complete.
What you'll be doing
- Supervising lessons across a variety of subjects

- Managing classroom behaviour
- Supporting students to remain focused and engaged
- Becoming a trusted member of the school community
